The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's basketball team achieved a 62-54 victory against the University of Northwestern (Minn.) at the Sonnentag Event Center on Wednesday night. This marks their third consecutive win.

UW-Eau Claire, with a record of 3-5, was trailing 36-23 at halftime but made a significant comeback in the second half. They scored 21 points in the third quarter to close the gap and eventually took control of the game. A decisive 13-point turnaround saw them outscore Northwestern by 39-18 in the final two quarters.

Reanna Hutchinson led all scorers with 21 points, making nine out of nineteen shots from the field, including three successful three-pointers. She also contributed seven rebounds and two steals to her team's effort.

Kyla Overskei added 18 points on seven out of sixteen shooting attempts and recorded seven rebounds and three assists. Lauren Meudt played a key defensive role with ten rebounds, six points, and three assists.

The Blugolds dominated in rebounding with a total of 42 boards, including 34 defensive rebounds which limited Northwestern's second-chance opportunities. Their improved shooting efficiency in the second half combined with holding Northwestern to only eight points in the third quarter and ten in the fourth secured their win.

Looking ahead, UW-Eau Claire will aim to maintain their momentum as they host Wisconsin Lutheran College for Alumni Night on Saturday, December 14 at 5 p.m. at Sonnentag.
