The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's lacrosse team made history once more by breaking its program scoring record for the second time in a week. The team achieved this milestone with a commanding 30-8 win over Southwestern University at the Sonnentag Fieldhouse. The Blugolds initially set a single-game scoring record with 27 goals against Augsburg on April 5 and topped it shortly after during their Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play against the Pirates.

A notable achievement from the game included Devon Crews reaching the 100-point career milestone, marking her as the fifth player in the program's history to do so. Crews accumulated six points during the match to achieve this feat.

The Blugolds, now boasting a 7-4 overall record and a 4-1 conference record, dominated from the outset, scoring nine goals in both the first and second quarters, leading into an 18-5 advantage at halftime. The team continued their streak by scoring six of the initial seven goals.

Jess Stiller significantly contributed to this success with five first-half goals, while Victoria Shea added four. The Blugolds managed an impressive sequence of 10 consecutive goals between the second and third quarters before responding to the Pirates' attempt to halt their momentum by adding eight more goals. Stiller ended the game with the highest individual points tally of nine, Paige Kiani added eight, and Shea concluded with seven. Shea also took the lead in goals, scoring six, and Kiani scored five. Kiani tied the program record for draw controls with 10, while Reegan Werner contributed seven ground balls and three turnovers.

The goalkeepers, Alexandria Shea and Bella Jones, combined for three saves as seven different Blugolds recorded multiple goals.

The Blugolds will next face the College of Saint Benedict on Monday, April 14, in another WIAC matchup, with the game scheduled to start at 5 p.m. For ongoing updates throughout the season, fans can follow the Blugolds on Blugolds.com, the Blugold Sports app, and on social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
