The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced the Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the period from September 16 to 23. Carson Kowalski from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire was recognized as the defensive player of the week. The selection was made by an anonymous vote of WIAC head coaches.
Kowalski, hailing from Mundelein, Illinois, scored the decisive goal in the 11th minute during a corner kick. His back post run led UW-Eau Claire to a 1-0 victory over the previously undefeated #8 University of Chicago. In addition to his offensive contribution, Kowalski played a pivotal role in defense, limiting the Maroons to just two shots on goal and helping secure UW-Eau Claire's third clean sheet of the season.
