UW-Eau Claire and Wheaton College played to a 1-1 draw on Friday at Joe Bean Stadium in Wheaton, Illinois. Both teams scored in the first half, but neither could find a winning goal in the second half.

The Blugolds started the match with early offensive pressure. Emma Donovan took a shot in the opening minute that was saved by Wheaton's goalkeeper, Leah Roe. Mikalyn Hidde and Caroline Curran also had shots on goal during the first 15 minutes, but Roe made key saves to keep UW-Eau Claire off the scoreboard.

Wheaton took the lead at 16:57 with a goal from Emily Setran. The Blugolds responded late in the first half when Katarina Charles converted a penalty kick at 41:19 to tie the game.

In the second half, UW-Eau Claire's goalkeeper Bella Jones made an important save against Setran in the 49th minute and another against Lily Lindquist in the 82nd minute. Despite receiving a yellow card for Lisette Thurman in the 84th minute, UW-Eau Claire held their defensive shape and kept Wheaton from scoring again.

Charles finished as UW-Eau Claire’s only goal scorer, recording one shot on goal. Jones made four saves over her 90 minutes of play while allowing just one goal. Hidde had two shots on target and Johanna Thompson added another shot on goal.

The result leaves UW-Eau Claire with an overall record of 0-2-1 for the season, while Wheaton stands at 2-0-1.
