The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's hockey team secured a 5-1 victory against Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday at Hobbs Ice Arena. After trailing in the first period, the Blugolds scored five unanswered goals to take control of the game.

The ninth-ranked Blugolds (11-5-0) turned the game around with four goals in the second period, three of which were scored during power plays. This comeback helped them earn a series split with the Cobbers (2-10-0).

Five different players contributed to UW-Eau Claire's scoring effort. Quinn Hartmetz led with one goal and two assists. Madison Krumholz opened the scoring for the Blugolds early in the second period during a power play, assisted by Hartmetz.

Hartmetz then scored what would be the game-winning goal three and a half minutes later, again capitalizing on a power play with assists from Krumholz and Maddie Hulter.

Ellie Andersen extended the lead to 3-1 with another power play goal less than 30 seconds after Hartmetz's strike, assisted by Hartmetz.

Kenzie Keller added a fourth goal for UW-Eau Claire late in the second period, assisted by Jana Lesch.

Ashley Wagenbach completed the scoring in the third period after receiving a pass from Samantha Bandholz.

Looking ahead, the Blugolds will face fifth-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College on Tuesday, January 14. The Blugolds previously defeated Gustavus Adolphus 4-3 earlier this season. The upcoming game is scheduled for 7 p.m.
