The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Jared Stricker has been recognized as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Athlete of the Week for wrestling. This marks the third time Stricker has received this accolade during his tenure with the Blugolds.

Stricker's achievement follows his victory at the 174-pound championship at the Reno Tournament of Champions in Reno, Nevada, on December 22. He secured the title with a flawless 5-0 record, overcoming two NCAA Division I opponents to clinch first place. Each of his five victories was a bonus-point win, including two pins, one technical fall, and two major decisions. Notably, he pinned Peter McCrackin from NCAA Division II Simon Fraser University in just 21 seconds during the quarterfinals. In subsequent rounds, he achieved an 8-0 major decision over fourth-seeded Ethan Ducca from the University of Wyoming in the semifinals and a 12-3 major decision against third-seeded Riley Davis of Wyoming in the finals.

Fans can keep up with the Blugolds throughout their season by visiting Blugolds.com or using their app, Blugold Sports. Updates are also available on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
