Thursdays at the U to Feature Historical Portrayal of Mary Todd Lincoln

The upcoming Thursdays at the U event at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire – Barron County will feature a historical portrayal of Mary Todd Lincoln by Jessica Michna, offering audiences insight into the life of one of America's most misunderstood first ladies. Michna, known for her riveting portrayals, will take the stage on May 9 and share the tragedies and triumphs of Mary Todd Lincoln's life.

Mary Todd Lincoln's journey, from her upbringing in Kentucky to becoming the First Lady of the United States, will be brought to life by Michna. The portrayal will delve into the challenges Mary Todd Lincoln faced, including the loss of her husband and three of her four sons.

Jessica Michna, the talented actress behind the portrayal, developed a passion for history from a young age and has received recognition for her compelling portrayals of historical figures, including first ladies. Her dedication to bringing history to life has earned her the Presidential Service Center’s Distinguished Service award in 2016.

The Thursdays at the U event series, made possible by the UW-Eau Claire – Barron County Foundation, offers free and open access to the public. While in-person attendance is encouraged, the event will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
