UW-Stout fashion design seniors are gearing up to present their capstone clothing collections at the upcoming WEAR Fashion Show on April 27. The event marks the culmination of their polytechnic education, providing them with a platform to showcase their unique creations to the public.

Emerson, one of the graduating seniors, drew inspiration from the Dutch Golden Age for her bridalwear collection, aiming to create wedding garments that demand attention and stand out. Describing her designs as meticulously crafted, she expressed her excitement for the upcoming showcase, highlighting the uniqueness of her creations.

Cinealis, another senior, focused her collection on raising awareness about societal perceptions of the lesbian community. Her pieces, such as "Concealment" and "Oversexualization," carry deep meanings reflecting the struggles faced by the community. Cinealis emphasized the importance of conveying a message through her designs and the satisfaction of the creative process.

Morin, a senior with a passion for golf, translated her experiences on the course into her collection named "Tradition." Inspired by the characters and history of American golf, Morin's designs reflect a blend of classic aesthetics with modern elements. She expressed joy in witnessing her collection come to life on the runway, embodying the characters she envisioned.

The three seniors praised UW-Stout's fashion design program for equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to kickstart their careers in the industry. Cinealis and Morin have already secured positions post-graduation, while Emerson is exploring freelance opportunities and full-time positions to further hone her craft.

The WEAR Fashion Show, organized by the WEAR Fashion Association student organization, promises to be a showcase of creativity and talent, with each senior designer bringing a unique perspective to the runway. The event is part of UW-Stout's Spring Showcase, emphasizing the university's commitment to fostering emerging designers and industry leaders.

As the fashion design seniors prepare to unveil their collections, they stand ready to embark on their professional journeys, armed with a solid foundation and a passion for innovation in the world of fashion.
