The Bridgman Hall Kazoo Band, a group made up of University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire alumni, is marking its 49th year by participating in the university’s Homecoming parade. This milestone coincides with the 100th Homecoming celebration at UW-Eau Claire.
To raise awareness about both anniversaries, former members of the kazoo band and new participants assembled at the Minnesota State Fair. They joined one of the daily parades to share their music and highlight the upcoming centennial Homecoming event for their alma mater.
"This is the 49th year the Bridgman Hall Kazoo Band will march in UW-Eau Claire’s Homecoming parade. In honor of the 100th Homecoming celebration for the university, members of past kazoo bands are making sure their voices — through the buzzing timbre of a kazoo — are being heard."
"To spread the word about the 100th Homecoming and the 49th year of the Bridgman Hall Kazoo Band, past members gathered, along with some new recruits, at the Minnesota State Fair. They marched in one of the daily parades and brought their special kind of fun to those along the parade route."
The band’s activities at both events serve as a way for alumni to stay connected to UW-Eau Claire while engaging with wider communities during public celebrations.
