PELLA, Iowa — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team secured a decisive 7-0 victory over Central on Saturday. In a commanding display, the Blugolds won all nine matches against the Dutch.
During doubles play, the Blugolds dominated, winning all three matches by four games or more, highlighted by 6-1 victories at both the No. 1 and No. 3 positions.
In singles, UW-Eau Claire dropped only 11 games across six matches, claiming all victories in straight sets. Samantha Fuchs, from DeForest, Wisconsin, triumphed in the No. 1 match 6-1, 6-0. Similarly, Anna Lee of Buffalo, Minnesota, won by the same score at No. 2. Beatriz Felchak from Curitiba, Brazil, notched a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3. Victories continued with Liv Herzog from Owatonna, Minnesota, at No. 4, Aubrey Wittwer from Delano, Minnesota, at No. 5, and Morgan Dekan from Altoona, Wisconsin, at No. 6.
Looking ahead, the Blugolds will conclude their regular season with a visit to Grinnell on Sunday, April 13, with a start time of 12 p.m.
