The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's men's and women's track and field teams achieved notable successes at the UW-Platteville Invitational held on April 11-12. Participating in their second outdoor meet of the season, the Blugolds secured several victories in individual events.
Adam Strouf, a senior from Rice Lake, Wisconsin, delivered an impressive performance by achieving a Division III-leading throw of 18.32 meters in the shot put, setting a new personal season best.
For the men's team, Troy VerStrate claimed victory in the steeplechase with a time of 10:13.52. The 4x400-meter relay team, consisting of Harrison Cull, Connor Jankuski, Jack Schreiber, and Cameron Pease, finished first in their event with a time of 3:14.57. Adam Strouf's shot put performance also placed him at the top, along with Yakob Ekoue's discus throw of 56.00 meters and Tommy Mestnik's javelin throw of 55.14 meters.
On the women's side, Hannah Greeno claimed the steeplechase in 12:38.67. McKenzie Kruse secured first place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.59. The women's 4x400-meter relay team, composed of Emilee Booker, Mya Cinnamo, Allyson Kakes, and Kylee Grabarski, won their event in 3:50.61.
