Adrianna Dahlberg, a native of Two Harbors, Minnesota, chose to dedicate her life to the nursing profession after some self-reflection. "After doing some self-searching, I found I enjoy helping people and being there for people in their darkest times," she expressed. Pursuing a bachelor of science in nursing, Dahlberg also cherished the opportunity to contribute to music at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Throughout her time at the university, Dahlberg actively participated in the Eau Claire Student Nurses Association, taking on roles such as fundraising coordinator and vice president. Furthermore, she served as a nursing student ambassador, sharing insights on UWEC’s nursing program and student life. She also completed an internship with the Wisconsin Area Health Education Centers Community Health Program, contributing to community health improvement projects.
Dahlberg continued her passion for music by performing with the university's choral ensembles. She expressed gratitude for Dr. Frank Watkins, director of choral studies, who accommodated her demanding nursing schedule. "I’ve always participated in music throughout my life, and I didn’t want to stop in college," she remarked.
Her journey at the Mark Stephen Cosby Honors College provided a platform for academic diversity and exposure to new fields. “Honors gave me a break to explore different fields and hear perspectives I hadn’t considered,” she said. The experience also offered a deeper understanding of healthcare issues through a course on global health.
Dahlberg valued the leadership skills acquired as an Honors 100 mentor. She reflected, "Being a senior in a classroom with a bunch of first-years was a really eye-opening experience to see how much my perspective has shifted over the past four years." She described guiding first-year students as rewarding.
Looking forward, Dahlberg is set to begin her career with Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, within their Infusion Therapy Center's nurse residency program. "I’m thrilled to be starting my career with Mayo Clinic and to begin a new chapter in Rochester, Minnesota!" she declared.
