The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has revealed its selection for the Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for March 31 - April 6. Stefan Klechefski from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's men's outdoor track and field team was named the men's track athlete of the week.
Klechefski achieved notable finishes at the Ashton May Invitational held at UW-La Crosse on April 5. He secured a win in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.52 seconds and placed second in the 200-meter dash. His performance in the 100-meter dash currently ranks 11th in NCAA Division III and is the leading time in the WIAC. Klechefski's achievements contributed to the Blugolds securing the team title at the event.
"We are proud of Stefan's consistent performance and resiliency on the track," said an unnamed coach. His colleagues and coaches are pleased with his contribution to the team's success.
Klechefski's recognition was determined by an anonymous vote from WIAC head coaches.
