The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has announced that Adam Strouf, a senior from Rice Lake, Wisconsin, has been recognized as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III Athlete of the Week for the week of April 7. This makes Strouf the third male athlete from the university to receive this national honor, following in the footsteps of Marcus Weaver and David Kornack.
Strouf distinguished himself with a strong start to his outdoor track and field season. He secured first place in the shot put event at the UW-La Crosse's Ashton May Invitational on April 5. His throw of 17.59 meters marks the top performance in Division III this season. Additionally, Strouf achieved personal records in the hammer throw with 52.15 meters and in the discus with 43.52 meters.
