Students and the community at the University of Wisconsin-Stout are preparing for a series of events to showcase creativity, research, and innovation throughout the spring semester.

The Stout Spring Showcase will host various events throughout April and May, highlighting the university's polytechnic distinction. Events include performances, exhibitions, and discussions across numerous disciplines. Attendees can look forward to performances like “Alice by Heart,” which will be on stage from April 10 to 12 at Harvey Hall Theatre. An accessible performance is scheduled for April 10, "with a more informal atmosphere aimed to welcome those with sensory difficulties or autism."

Fashion enthusiasts can attend the WEAR Fashion Show on May 3, featuring collections from fashion design and development students. The event will take place in the Memorial Student Center Great Hall. For those interested in game development, the Stout Game Expo will be held on May 8, showcasing work from students across various game design programs.

Research Day, set for May 6, is a significant event celebrating research through poster presentations, exhibits, and oral presentations conducted by students and faculty from UW-Stout and Chippewa Valley Technical College. "The community is invited to meet with UW-Stout faculty, staff and students," as well as view over 150 displays of research and innovation.

Other events in the showcase include the Symphonic Band concert on April 27, the Unspooled Film and Animation Festival from May 10 to 11, and the Design Wisconsin event from May 16 to 18, emphasizing Wisconsin's contribution to industrial and fashion design. "Design Wisconsin celebrates Wisconsin's legacy of industrial design and fashion design innovation."

The Unspooled Film and Animation Festival will feature regional and international films, alongside workshops and guest speakers, presented at Harvey Hall Theatre. Submissions are open through April 20.

Tickets for many of these events can be reserved at uwstout.universitytickets.com.

During this vibrant period, UW-Stout is inviting both local and wider communities to engage in its spectrum of educational and creative celebrations.
