University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire ranks 15th in Division III winter sports season

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has achieved 15th place in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings for NCAA Division III after the 2024-25 winter sports season. This placement marks an improvement from their previous tie for 21st at the end of the fall season.

The Learfield Directors' Cup is a collaborative initiative by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. The standings are determined by points awarded based on each institution's performance in NCAA Championships.

For UW-Eau Claire, various sports contributed to the point tally. The Blugolds gathered 225.75 points over the winter season, totaling 434.75 points for the year. Wrestling played a significant role, earning 68.3 points with a ninth-place finish at the NCAA Championships. Women's indoor track and field secured 61.5 points from their 14th-place finish nationally, while the men's team added 60 points with their 15th-place finish. Men's hockey participation in the NCAA Tournament contributed 25 points, and the men's swimming and diving team's 47th-place national finish brought in an additional 11 points.

Currently, UW-Eau Claire stands as the second-highest Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) school in the standings as they head into the spring sports season.
