Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District had the highest enrollment among Chippewa County districts, welcoming 4,634 students during the 2023-24 academic year, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2023-24 school year, 50.4% of them were boys, and 49.5% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 97.1% of the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District's total enrollment.

Among the six districts in Chippewa County, Bloomer School District ranked second in enrollment numbers with 1,254 students, while Stanley-Boyd Area School District welcomed 1,066 students and ranked third in the 2023-24 school year.

In the previous school year, Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District also had the highest number of students among Chippewa County districts.

Nearly 830,000 students were enrolled in Wisconsin schools in the 2021-22 school year. This is a 0.85% decrease from the year before. In sharp contrast to declining public school figures, enrollment in charter schools rose 4.5% to more than 52,000.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 14 students in a Wisconsin classroom, compared to the national average of 1:16. AAA State of Play considered Wisconsin to have the 14th best teacher to student ratio in the U.S.
