The University of Wisconsin-Stout is opening its doors for Destination Weekend, from April 11 to April 13, 2025. The event invites families, alumni, and community members to come together and celebrate students through a range of academic, athletic, and creative events, including the Women's Flag Football Jamboree and the Fashion Without Fabric runway show.
The weekend marks the beginning of UW-Stout's Spring Showcase, a series of events spanning two months. Specific events do require tickets, but most are open to everyone without prior registration.
Highlighted events on Saturday, April 12, include the STEM Exploration for students in grades 6-12. Held in Jarvis Hall, the event offers hands-on experience in robotics, engineering, and 3D printing, thanks to support from the Xcel Energy Foundation Award. Also on the roster is the Women's Flag Football Jamboree at Don and Nona Williams Stadium, where UW-Stout joins forces with partners like the Minnesota Vikings and several NCAA institutions to introduce a new league.
UW-Stout’s School of Art & Design presents the Fashion Without Fabric show, themed “Welcome to Phenomonie!”, at the Memorial Student Center Great Hall on the evening of April 12. It is known as one of the Midwest's standout unconventional fashion events, with potential for two students to secure $1,000 scholarships.
Theatre enthusiasts can enjoy “Alice by Heart,” a musical staged at Harvey Hall Theatre under the direction of Audric Buhr. The play, set during World War II, explores themes of escape and imagination, with multiple performances scheduled, including a sensory-friendly show on April 10.
Additional events include meet-the-artist sessions, art exhibit tours, and athletic competitions. These offer the opportunity to engage with the arts and sciences while supporting student talent at UW-Stout.
