The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for January 20-26. Andre Renta from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire was recognized as the men's basketball athlete of the week. The selection was made through an anonymous vote by WIAC head coaches.
Renta, a player from Hudson, Wisconsin, averaged 21.5 points, 7.0 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game during this period. His performance contributed to UW-Eau Claire's victories in two WIAC contests. On January 22, he scored 23 points with eight assists and three rebounds in an 81-53 win against UW-Stout. Later that week, Renta added another strong performance with 20 points, six assists, and three rebounds in a close 71-66 victory over the No. 17-ranked UW-Stevens Point team. Across these games, he maintained a shooting accuracy of 63 percent from the field.
