Gymnasts achieve season-high beam score despite loss to top-ranked UW-Oshkosh

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team achieved its highest score of the season on the balance beam but was defeated by top-ranked UW-Oshkosh in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual meet. The event, held on Friday, ended with a score of 193.400-187.450 in favor of UW-Oshkosh.

The Blugolds showcased strong performances on the beam and floor exercise despite the loss to the Titans. UW-Eau Claire scored 48.125 on the beam, marking their best total this season. Freshman Hareet Gehlon from Brampton, Ontario, led the team with a score of 9.725, earning her second place individually in that event and tying for the fourth-best mark in program history.

Sophomore Meghan Dahlin from Holly, Michigan, tied for fourth place on the beam with a score of 9.650. Madison Daly from Las Vegas participated as the sole all-around competitor for UW-Eau Claire, scoring 35.550 overall with her highest individual score being 9.425 on the beam.

Senior Kelsey Donovan from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, tied for fourth in floor exercise with a score of 9.625, leading her team in that category.

UW-Eau Claire's other scores included a 46.700 on vault, a 45.625 on uneven bars, and a 47.000 in floor exercise events. Meanwhile, UW-Oshkosh dominated each event and had the top individual performances across all categories.

Looking ahead, the Blugolds will compete again on Friday, January 31st at No. 9 ranked UW-Stout in Menomonie at 6 p.m.
