The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's wrestler Jared Stricker has been recognized as the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Kwik Trip Athlete of the Week for January 13-19. This is the second time this season and the fourth time in his career that Stricker has received this honor.
During the week, Stricker achieved a 5-0 record, including a victory over a ranked opponent and four wins against NCAA Division II competitors. He also set a new UW-Eau Claire record for all-time pins. On January 16, he secured an 11-1 major decision over Carson Trotzer, who was ranked No. 13, in a dual meet against UW-Stevens Point. Stricker continued his winning streak at the Southwest Minnesota State Duals on January 18 with victories over Division II opponents. Notably, he pinned Connor Padgett from Fort Hays State University in his first match of the day, marking his 65th career pin and setting a new record for UW-Eau Claire. He further added another pin and a technical fall during the event.
