UW-Eau Claire gymnasts fall short against UW-La Crosse in home opener

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire gymnastics team faced a setback in their home opener against UW-La Crosse, with a final score of 190.100 to 187.700 at the McPhee Center. Despite the loss, the Blugolds showcased strong performances on the uneven bars and balance beam during their first home dual of the season.

UW-La Crosse's gymnasts secured individual victories across all apparatuses. However, Madison Daly from UW-Eau Claire emerged as the all-around winner with a score of 36.475, being the sole competitor to participate in all four events.

Cadence Cordova achieved third place on the uneven bars with a score of 9.650, matching the third-best score in program history for this event. Meghan Dahlin also made her mark by scoring 9.725 on the balance beam, tying for fourth-best in program history.

In other notable performances, Emily Leese tied for second place in the floor exercise with a score of 9.625, while Amy Fridley tied for second on the vault with a score of 9.475.

Looking ahead, UW-Eau Claire will compete against UW-Oshkosh on Friday, January 24th at 6 p.m.
