Nearly 400 students from the University of Wisconsin-Stout will present their work at three major events this December. The showcases, scheduled from December 11 to December 13, will highlight projects from various programs, including art, design, science, technology, and engineering.

The School of Art and Design Senior Show will feature the works of graduating seniors like Emma Johnson and Ellie Johnson. Their capstone projects focus on sustainable travel and consumer health and safety. This event will take place on December 13 at Applied Arts and Micheels Hall.

Emma Johnson has developed TREUSE, a sustainable travel app that connects users with eco-friendly experiences. "Users can explore options like guided tours, workshops and events," she explained. Her app aims to promote conscious tourism by highlighting activities that support environmental sustainability.

Ellie Johnson's project PURE is a publication addressing the health and safety of personal care products. She aims to raise awareness about harmful substances in these products. "Harmful substances...are often hidden in consumer products," she stated.

The Stout Game Expo is set for December 11 at the Memorial Student Center. It will showcase work from around 250 students involved in game design and development-art programs.

On December 12, the STEMM Student Expo will provide a platform for hundreds of students to display their projects related to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and management.

Both Emma and Ellie transferred to UW-Stout’s graphic design program after beginning their studies elsewhere. They are set to graduate on December 14. Post-graduation plans include Ellie traveling abroad before pursuing a career in design while Emma starts her full-time position as a graphic designer at Kasco.

UW-Stout’s School of Art and Design offers diverse degree programs ranging from animation to video production along with master’s degrees in design-related fields.
