The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's tennis team faced the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) match. The Blugolds were defeated 5-2 by last season's tournament champions.

Morgan Briggman and Stella Platt secured a win at No. 3 doubles, marking their third consecutive WIAC victory with a 7-5 result. This win brings their dual action record to 3-0 for the year. UW-Whitewater won the other two doubles matches, claiming the overall doubles point.

In singles play, Aubrey Wittwer earned a win at No. 4 singles with scores of 7-6 (9-7), 6-3, maintaining her unbeaten record in conference duals this season at 3-0. Ana Paula Ricaurte added another point for Eau Claire with a win at No. 5 singles, finishing 7-5, 4-1 after her opponent retired from the match.

The Blugolds will next compete outside of WIAC play at the Midwest ITA Regional tournament hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota on September 20.
