The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestling team achieved a significant victory at the Adrian Duals, held at the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center in Adrian, Michigan. The Blugolds finished with an undefeated 4-0 record, securing first place in the tournament.

The team began their day with a decisive 41-9 win against Cleary University, which had received votes in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association NAIA national poll. They continued their success with a 38-8 victory over the host team, Adrian.

In their third match, UW-Eau Claire faced Seton Hill University from Division II. The Griffins were also noted in recent NWCA national polls. The Blugolds emerged victorious once again. Their final match was against Ohio Northern University, ranked 14th nationally. UW-Eau Claire clinched the title with an 18-15 win.

Key performances came from top-ranked Jared Stricker and fifth-ranked Zach Sato. Stricker competed at 174 pounds and won all four matches of the day, including a technical fall against an eighth-ranked Division II opponent from Seton Hill. Sato competed at 149 pounds and achieved three pins along with a technical fall. Travis Moelter also had a strong showing at 133 pounds, winning all his matches with two major decisions and one pin.

Looking ahead, the Blugolds will compete in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual meet against UW-Whitewater on Wednesday, November 20th.
