UWEC women's cross country wins first Blugold Invite since 2021

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's cross country team achieved a significant milestone by securing their first victory at the Blugold Invite since 2021. The event took place on Friday at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wisconsin. The team accumulated 58 points to claim the top position and mark their first win of the season.

Keeley Behr, a junior from Aurora, Illinois, led the Blugolds with a time of 22:28.3, finishing fourth overall and second among scoring runners. Ryann Wagner, another junior from Lena, Wisconsin, also performed well by placing ninth overall and seventh among scorers with a time of 22:48.4.

Sophomores Libby Beirne from Oregon, Wisconsin, and Molly Heidorn from Colfax, Wisconsin followed closely behind. Beirne secured the 18th spot with a time of 23:15.4 while Heidorn finished 22nd overall at 23:24.2. Senior Allison Weissinger from River Falls, Wisconsin completed the scoring for UW-Eau Claire with a run of 23:29.4, earning her the 27th position overall.

The team's average finish time was recorded at 23:06.

Looking ahead, the Blugolds are set to compete again on Saturday, October 19th at the Augustana Invitational in Rock Island, Illinois.
