The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team hosted the annual Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational on Sunday and Monday at the Eau Claire Golf and Country Club. The Blugolds achieved a commendable second-place finish out of 18 teams, with Corey Boerner (Sr. – Bloomington, Minn.) securing first place individually with a two-round score of 143 strokes. The team also surpassed 15th-ranked Bethel University and 25th-ranked Gustavus Adolphus College.

Corey Boerner led the leaderboard after an initial round score of one over par and concluded the weekend with an even par round two, earning individual medalist honors for the tournament. This marks the fourth consecutive year that a Blugold has finished as the top player at their home event.

Nick Amtmann (Sr. – Nashotah, Wis.) was Eau Claire's A team's second-lowest finisher with a two-round score of 148 strokes, including an even par on day two.

Alec Sosnowski (Jr. – Verona, Wis.) led UWEC's B team to a tie for second place with rounds of 75 and 69.

Nick Mueller (So. – Baldwin, Wis.) and Luke Taebel (Fr. – Holmen, Wis.) also broke 150 with scores of 147 and 148 respectively.

The Blugolds are set to travel to Lake Geneva, Wis., on Saturday and Sunday, September 29th and 30th for the UW-Stout Invitational at the Highlands Course at Grand Geneva Resort. They will tee off at 11 a.m. on Sunday and at 9 a.m. on Monday.
