The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team hosted Bethel University on Monday night, celebrating Youth Night with a decisive 5-1 victory. The Blugolds dominated from the outset, scoring four goals in the first half.
Elise Pinewski scored the opening goal at the four-minute mark and added her second goal in the 19th minute. Sophie Hubbard assisted both goals, marking her first multi-assist game. Johanna Thompson scored at 8:24, and Savannah Swopes extended the lead to 4-0 in the 40th minute with an assist from her sister Jayda Swopes.
In the second half, Molly Henderson added a fifth goal for UW-Eau Claire in the 47th minute with an assist from Nicole Monahan. Goalkeepers Kennedy Boll, Bella Jones, and Ella Swanson each contributed to maintaining their team's lead.
The Blugolds (3-3-1) will next host Luther College on Wednesday, September 18th at Simpson Field, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
