Ava Glenn, a junior from Montgomery, Illinois, has been named UW-Eau Claire Athletics' Blugold of the Week, sponsored by BSN Sports/Nike. Glenn is majoring in Physical Education-Teaching and has been recognized for her contributions both on and off the soccer field.

Glenn chose UW-Eau Claire due to the sense of community she felt during her visit and the strength of its KINS and soccer programs. She is also involved in several campus organizations including Athletes in Action, CRU, and SHAPE club.

Balancing her academic and athletic commitments requires prioritization. "I balance being a student-athlete by making sure I have my priorities straight," she explained.

Reflecting on her athletic career at UW-Eau Claire, Glenn values the cumulative effort over singular achievements. "I am most proud of all the little moments in my athletic career at UWEC rather than one big moment," she said.

When it comes to competition snacks, Glenn prefers cucumbers before a game and some form of meat afterward. She also revealed some unique talents: ventriloquism and performing a cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody."

Her dream job is teaching physical education to middle schoolers to positively impact their lives. Norway tops her travel wish list, inspired by her grandparents currently visiting there.

If given a chance to spend a day with any professional athlete or celebrity, Glenn would choose Julie Ertz for her faith-driven lifestyle.

Glenn advises fellow student-athletes to make the most of their college sports experience: "Find the joy! Speaking from experience, relying on God's strength instead of my own has never failed me."

Sean Yengo from Women's Soccer commended Glenn's leadership qualities: "Ava is a junior captain who follows through with what she says she will do...she exemplifies all our team's core values."
