UWEC women's soccer team falls to North Central College at invitational

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team concluded their participation in the North Central Invitational on Saturday with a match against North Central College. Despite an early lead, the Blugolds were defeated 2-3 by the host school.

Emma Donovan, a freshman from Hazel Green, Wisconsin, scored her first collegiate goal in the 5th minute to give Eau Claire an initial 1-0 lead. Senior Sophie Hubbard from De Pere, Wisconsin, provided the primary assist for Donovan's goal.

North Central College responded quickly with two goals in the 7th and 16th minutes. Just before halftime, senior Elise Pinewski from Anoka, Minnesota, equalized for UWEC with her first goal of the season.

Senior Kennedy Boll from Franklin, Wisconsin, made 11 saves out of 14 shots faced during the match. Boll's record now stands at 2-3-1 for the season.

The Blugolds (2-3-1) will return home to face Bethel University in another nonconference game on Monday, September 16th at Simpson Field. The match is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
