Emily Fox, a recent graduate from the College of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, has successfully completed her degree in four years despite the challenges she faced. Fox expressed her pride in this accomplishment, stating, “I knew I could do it and I’m very proud of making it happen.” She credits her success to careful planning and determination, as well as the support she received from faculty members like Dr. William Miller and DeeAnn Peterson-Meyer.
Dr. Miller, who taught several of Fox’s classes and coached her in a Deloitte Audit Case Competition, commended her as a bright, tenacious, and fearless student. He believes that Fox will make a significant contribution to any company she joins in the future. Peterson-Meyer, a senior lecturer, highlighted Fox's dedication to campus and civic engagement, emphasizing her commitment to giving back to the community.
Reflecting on her future plans, Fox shared her intention to study for the certified public accountant exams over the summer and begin a job in the fall in the Twin Cities area. She expressed confidence in her preparation for the business world, citing her leadership roles in student organizations within the College of Business. Fox served as president in business student organizations like the Student Accounting Society and Beta Alpha Psi business honor society, and organized events to engage with the community.
Fox's involvement in various activities during her time at UW-Eau Claire has prepared her for a successful career in accounting. She is eager to apply her skills and knowledge in a professional setting, stating, “I’ve had amazing preparation for the realm of business.” Fox’s commitment to academic excellence and community engagement sets her apart as a promising candidate in the field of accounting.
