City of Eau Claire issued the following announcement on Sept.9
The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) includes funding intended to help our country recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund (CLFRF) is a part of ARPA and will help cities, counties, and towns recover.
The Eau Claire City Council and County Board will hold a joint listening session on Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Haymarket Plaza outside of the Pablo Center, 128 Graham Avenue. Residents and individuals who own businesses in Eau Claire will have an opportunity to appear in-person and share their thoughts about how the CLFRF should be disbursed in our community. Registration begins at 5 p.m. for those who wish to speak at this listening session; further guidance will be provided to registered speakers.
The City and County must follow particular requirements and laws to receive Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Funds. Still, direct input from you, as a member of our community, is an essential part of determining the distribution of money within the guidelines that the federal government has set.
To allow the greatest number of people to be heard, the listening session will follow the established Public Comment Period format used with regular City Council meetings.
