The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team finished 21st out of 24 teams at the NCAA Division III Fall Preview, held at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. The Blugolds completed the three-round tournament with a total score of 908 (+48).
Drew Maglio led the team, tying for 26th place individually with a final score of 219 (+4). His performance was highlighted by a second round score of 68 (-4), which stood out as one of the top single-round scores in the event.
Other contributors included Spencer Lynch, who tied for 86th with a three-round total of 229 (+14), and Cameron Stenzel, who tied for 104th and recorded his best round—a 73 (+2)—in the first round. Luke Taebel and Ryan Jamieson also competed, finishing tied for 109th and 112th respectively. Taebel's best effort came in the second round with an even-par 72.
Maglio’s consistent play helped anchor the Blugolds' efforts. He improved after his opening round to post a strong second round before closing with a steady finish. Lynch opened with a higher score but rebounded in his second round before concluding his tournament. Stenzel started well but faced challenges in later rounds.
The Blugolds are scheduled to compete next at the Grand Intercollegiate on Sunday, September 28. This event will be held at Grand Geneva Resort's Highlands Course in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, starting at 11 a.m.
