UW-Eau Claire and Luther men's soccer teams ended their match in a 1-1 draw at Simpson Field on Wednesday. The Blugolds generated significant offensive pressure throughout the game, recording 27 shots with 16 on target. Luther's goalkeeper made 14 saves to keep the score even.

Luther opened the scoring in the fifth minute following a counterattack. UW-Eau Claire equalized soon after when Carson Kowalski converted a penalty kick in the eighth minute. Both teams created chances for the remainder of the first half, with UWEC's Kalan McIlveen making a key save to maintain the tie.

The second half saw continued offensive efforts from UW-Eau Claire, with multiple attempts by Kowalski, Alek Laroi, Tate McDermott, Owen Williams, Krystof Cicha, and Noah Malcook. Despite these efforts, they were unable to break through Luther's defense or past their goalkeeper.

McIlveen finished with three saves on ten shots faced for UWEC. Elijah Post had four shots on goal, while Kowalski scored from one of his three attempts. Malcook also had three shots on target.

Following this result, UW-Eau Claire holds an overall record of 5-2-2 and will begin Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play by hosting UW-Stout on October 4 at Simpson Field.
