The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team finished second at the Grand Intercollegiate tournament in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The Blugolds posted a total score of 575 (+7) over two rounds, finishing three strokes behind Dubuque.
Drew Maglio led the team with a strong individual performance, taking second place overall after carding a 139 (-3). He shot a 69 (-2) in the first round and followed up with a 70 (-1) in the second round. Spencer Lynch also played an important role for UW-Eau Claire, tying for sixth place with a score of 141 (-1), recording rounds of 71 (E) and 70 (-1).
Luke Taebel improved from his opening round, scoring a 76 (+5) before posting a 70 (-1) in the second round to finish tied for 18th at 146 (+4). The combined efforts helped secure the team's runner-up position at the event.
Looking ahead, UW-Eau Claire is set to compete at the Golfweek October Classic on Sunday, October 12. The tournament will be held at Sandestin Resort's Raven Course in Destin, Florida.
