RIT defeated the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's soccer team 2-1 on Saturday at Joe Bean Stadium in Wheaton, Illinois. RIT scored twice in the first half and held off UW-Eau Claire's efforts to equalize.
Emma Donovan put the Blugolds ahead early with a goal in the eighth minute. However, RIT responded with goals from Addison Odle in the 33rd minute and Bella Coccio in the 43rd minute, taking a 2-1 lead into halftime.
UW-Eau Claire goalkeeper Bella Jones recorded 10 saves during the match, including seven in the second half. Despite her performance, RIT maintained offensive pressure throughout, registering a total of 26 shots. Jones made key stops against several RIT players but was unable to prevent both first-half goals.
Donovan finished with four shots—three on target—and Johanna Thompson added one shot for UW-Eau Claire. The Blugolds were unable to score again after Donovan's opening goal, and RIT secured its second win of the season.
Following this result, UW-Eau Claire's record stands at 0-3-1 while RIT improves to 2-0-2.
