Jack Frederick has been appointed Assistant Sports Information Director at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, according to an announcement from Athletic Director Jason Verdugo.

Frederick is a recent graduate of UW-Eau Claire and previously worked as a student intern in the university’s athletic department. During his internship, he assisted with recording live statistics for various Blugold sports and contributed to website maintenance under both current Sports Information Director Nick Hoven and former director Jill Millis.

"We are beyond excited to welcome Jack back to Eau Claire. As an alum of this office and university, Jack is no stranger to the passion our athletes, coaches, and staff share as Blugolds," said Hoven. "I am eager for him to rejoin our team and elevate the Blugold brand."

After earning his degree in psychology from UW-Eau Claire in 2023, Frederick spent a year and a half managing a nonprofit drop-in center for young adults in Eugene, Oregon. He now returns to Eau Claire to take on his new role within the athletics department.

"Eau Claire became a second home for me in my time there as a student, somewhere I always considered returning to. To come back and work in athletics is the perfect situation," Frederick said. "I want to thank Athletic Director Jason Verdugo, Associate Athletic Director Robin Baker, Sports Information Director Nick Hoven, and the entire search committee for the opportunity to return and begin working with the Blugold Athletic Department in a full-time capacity. I can't wait to hit the ground running!"

Frederick is originally from Mankato, Minnesota.
