Senator Julian Bradley, a Republican representing Wisconsin's 28th Senate district since 2021, has recently used his social media platform to highlight legislative efforts and community recognition. In a series of posts between July 26 and July 28, Bradley discussed both local achievements and policy initiatives affecting gig economy workers.

On July 26, Senator Bradley announced the latest recipient of the Forward28 award. He stated, "Congratulations to our latest Forward28 award-winner, Rick Taczala. He’s a Navy veteran whose service in the VFW Honor Guard & work with the New Berlin Veterans Memorial Society ensures our heroes aren’t forgotten. Turning to state legislation on July 28, Bradley addressed employment benefits for gig workers. In one post he wrote, "WI’s outdated law blocks gig companies from offering benefits. The bill I wrote with @RepAlexDallman bill fixes that. It’s a modern solution for a modern economy – and it just needs @GovEvers' signature to become law. Let’s get it done! @DoorDash, @Instacart, @Uber, @lyft".

Later that day, Bradley emphasized how this proposed change would impact various groups in Wisconsin: "Parents who need flexible hours. Students paying tuition. Retirees staying active. We’re so close to giving 100,000+ drivers the opportunity for real benefits like health insurance, dental care, & retirement savings. We just need @GovEvers to sign the portable benefits bill."

Bradley was elected in 2021 following Dave Craig's tenure as senator for the district.

The ongoing discussion over portable benefits reflects broader national debates about how states regulate worker protections and adapt laws for gig economy platforms such as DoorDash, Instacart, Uber and Lyft.
