The television adaptation of Tim Seeley's comic series "Revival" is now airing, based on the Image Comics series written and illustrated by Seeley. A 1999 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Seeley set the story in his hometown of Wausau. The plot revolves around a town dealing with 40 people returning from the dead, with a central character trying to solve her sister's murder.

Seeley explained that discussions about adapting his comic began in 2018, taking seven years to bring it to television. He said, “I think the show is landing well with people who like dark, weird stuff — people like me.”

Since graduating from UW-Eau Claire, Seeley has worked as an illustrator and writer for various comic series including "G.I. Joe," "Halloween," and "Batman Eternal." He currently resides in Chicago with his family and works as an adjunct professor at Columbia College.

Reflecting on his time at UW-Eau Claire, Seeley noted that he chose the university because it allowed him to focus on comics despite not having a specific major for it. He credited a summer internship at Marvel Comics as pivotal for his career.

Discussing the transition from book to television, Seeley said he was heavily involved throughout the process due to its lengthy development period. The show remains true to its comic origins and has aired five episodes so far.

There are plans for additional seasons given the extensive material available from the original comic series. The SYFY channel's ownership by NBC Universal could facilitate further seasons if renewed this fall.

Seeley fondly recalled spending time at Haas Fine Arts and Water Street during his student days and working at Eau Claire Comics and Collectibles. He expressed excitement about returning for GEEKcon in December.

He advised prospective art students at UWEC about the freedom they have compared to other schools, emphasizing how experiences like his Marvel internship were instrumental in shaping his career path.

The official trailer for "Revival" can be viewed on YouTube, while more of Seeley's artwork is available on his professional website.
