In the first game, the Blugolds, at 6-25 overall and winless in conference play, managed to lead until the ninth inning when UW-Stevens Point mounted a comeback to push the game into extra innings. The Pointers, who stand at 15-16 overall and 10-10 in conference play, eventually won with a decisive two-run home run in the tenth inning.

However, the Pointers extended their lead with two additional home runs.
