Whitetail Golf Course | UW-Eau Claire Blugolds
The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's golf team secured second place at the Bobby Krig Invite held on Saturday at the New Prague Golf Club in Minnesota. After finishing the first day in second position, the Blugolds maintained their stance through the tournament's conclusion.
The team had two groups participating, with their top lineup completing the tournament at 40 over par, trailing 15 shots behind the champion, Gustavus Adolphus. The second team from the Blugolds ended in a tenth-place tie at 85 over par.
Senior golfer Nick Amtmann from Nashotah, Wisconsin, led the Blugolds individually, attaining fifth place with a score of 8 over par, just four strokes shy of the winner. Fellow golfers Corey Boerner and Ben Pausha both tied for sixth place, each finishing at 9 over par. Fred Moede secured the ninth spot, ending the tournament at 10 over par.
Additional contributions came from Ryan Jamieson, Spencer Lynch, and Owen Covey, who all ranked within the top 50. Jamieson tied for 31st, Lynch for 33rd, and Covey for 41st, with Jamieson posting the lowest round for the Blugolds on Saturday with a score of 74.
