UW-Eau Claire men's tennis team wins 7-0 against Hamline

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team secured a 7-0 victory against Hamline on Saturday at the John & Fay Menard YMCA Tennis Center. The Blugolds showcased a strong performance by winning two out of three doubles matches and sweeping all six singles matches.

In the doubles category, Sam Murillo and Pablo Rincón clinched a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles, while Andrew Mueller and Otto Schluter achieved the same score at No. 3. The team's dominance continued in the singles matches, all claimed in straight sets. Ethan Wurtzel won the No. 1 singles match 7-5, 6-2. Rincón followed with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2. Schluter took the No. 3 match 6-3, 6-2. Billy Hughes claimed the No. 4 position with a 6-2, 6-2 win. Murillo triumphed in the No. 5 match 6-0, 7-5, and Ethan Leeser rounded off the singles victories with a 6-1, 7-6 (5) win at No. 6.

The Blugolds are next set to face the College of Saint Scholastica on Thursday, April 24, with the match starting at 5 p.m. at the John & Fay Menard YMCA Tennis Center.
