The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire wrestler Jared Stricker was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Wrestler of the Year for the 2024-25 season. The WIAC made the announcement on Friday regarding its postseason awards.
This marks the second consecutive season Stricker has received this honor. Last season, he was named Co-Wrestler of the Year. This makes it the third time a Blugold wrestler has received this award, with Derek Sikora being the previous recipient in 2006.
Stricker achieved the most victories in NCAA Division III this season, concluding with an impressive 43-0 record as he captured the 174-pound national championship. This accomplishment marks his second consecutive national title, making him the first two-time national champion in his program's history.
During his senior season, Stricker is believed to be ranked among the top five in Division III history with 169 career victories. This season, he also became the WIAC's all-time leader in wins and UW-Eau Claire's all-time leader with 75 pins. His Blugold career ended with a 71-match win streak, the longest in the program's history.
