The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for March 17-23. Paige Lathrop from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire was recognized as the softball athlete of the week, selected by an anonymous vote of WIAC head coaches.
Lathrop's performance at the Space Coast Spring Games in Cocoa Beach, Florida, was notable. Over six games from March 19-21, she achieved a batting average of .727, going 16-for-22. She contributed seven runs batted in and scored 12 runs herself. Her consistency was evident with multiple hits in each game, including two three-hit games and one where she went 4-for-4. Lathrop also recorded a double and two triples while stealing four bases. In her last three games against Millikin University, Hamilton College, and Rutgers University-Newark, she excelled with a 10-for-11 record at bat. Her on-base percentage for the week stood at .750 with a slugging percentage of .909. Defensively, she maintained a perfect fielding percentage with three putouts.
