The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's swimming and diving team participated in the NCAA Division III Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. On Thursday, Molly Hosack was the sole Blugold competitor, placing 40th in the women's 200-yard freestyle preliminaries with a time of 1:53.69.
Despite her efforts, only the top 16 swimmers and two alternates advanced to the finals and consolation finals. This marks Hosack's second consecutive year competing in this event at nationals, where she improved from last year's 47th place finish.
The competition continues for the Blugolds with Blake Wallen set to compete in men's one-meter diving on Friday, March 21. Molly Hosack will return to swim in the women's 1,650-yard freestyle on Saturday, March 22. Preliminary rounds are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Eastern each day.
