The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team split their matches on Wednesday during their Florida trip. The Blugolds secured a 6-1 victory against St. Lawrence in the morning but were defeated by Warner (Fla.) with the same score later that day.

In the match against St. Lawrence, the Blugolds dominated, winning all matches except for the No. 1 singles and doubles. Pablo Rincón and Sam Murillo claimed victory in the No. 2 doubles match, while Andrew Mueller and Otto Schluter won at No. 3 doubles, providing an early lead before singles play commenced.

Rincón, Schluter, Billy Hughes, Murillo, and Ethan Leeser all emerged victorious in their singles matches to secure the dual win for Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Notably, four of these wins were straight-set victories, with Leeser clinching his match in a third-set tiebreak.

Later that day, Warner outperformed the Blugolds by winning all three doubles matches and five out of six singles contests. Hughes was the sole victor for Wisconsin-Eau Claire against Warner, taking the No. 4 singles match with scores of 6-4, 6-2.

The Blugolds will conclude their Orlando trip with a dual against Hamilton College on Thursday, March 20th at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time.
