The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire women's lacrosse team was defeated by the University of Mary Washington with a score of 20-3 on Tuesday. The game took place in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where the Eagles quickly established a lead in the first half, which the Blugolds could not overcome.

Mary Washington, now with an 8-1 record, scored four goals in the opening nine minutes. Jess Stiller from Evergreen, Colorado, managed to score for the Blugolds (now 3-3) off an assist from Reegan Werner from Farmington, Minnesota, with just over two minutes remaining in the first quarter. However, Mary Washington responded rapidly with two more goals within seven seconds at the end of the quarter to secure a 6-1 lead entering the second period.

Werner scored unassisted at the start of the second quarter and Devon Crews from St. Louis added another goal midway through. Despite this effort, Mary Washington continued to dominate by scoring five more times during that quarter and leading 11-3 at halftime. In the second half, UW-Eau Claire was unable to add any points to their score as Mary Washington held them scoreless.

Crews concluded her performance with three ground balls and three caused turnovers while Werner contributed two ground balls and three draw controls. Alexandria Shea from Pleasant Prairie made eight saves as goalkeeper for UW-Eau Claire.

Looking ahead, UW-Eau Claire will conclude their spring break trip with a game against Marymount University on Saturday, March 22 at 1 p.m. Eastern in Arlington, Virginia.
