The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's tennis team faced a challenging start to their spring break trip, losing 6-1 to Vassar College in Orlando, Florida. The Blugolds managed to secure one victory each in singles and doubles against the Brewers.

In the doubles competition, Vassar secured two out of three matches to claim the team point. However, Juan Gallego and Ethan Wurtzel achieved a hard-fought win at No. 1 doubles with a score of 7-6.

The team's sole singles victory came from Billy Hughes at No. 4 singles. Hughes triumphed in a three-set match with scores of 6-4, 3-6, and 7-5. Otto Schluter also took his No. 3 singles match to three sets but ultimately lost with scores of 4-6, 6-3, and 6-3.

Looking ahead, UW-Eau Claire is set to play against Hobart College on Tuesday, March 18 in Orlando at 8:30 a.m. Eastern.
