Elizabeth Hermann, a sophomore from Macomb, Michigan, has been named the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Athletics' Blugold of the Week. This recognition is presented by BSN Sports/Nike.
Hermann is majoring in International Business with a minor in Marketing. She chose UW-Eau Claire for its "beautiful campus," strong academics, and notably for the golf team. Besides her athletic commitments, she is involved with SAAC and Beta Gamma Sigma on campus.
Balancing her role as a student-athlete involves having "a written plan" to stay organized while ensuring time for relaxation. Reflecting on her athletic career at UW-Eau Claire, Hermann is proud of her ability to recover from poor performances: "I am most proud of bouncing back from one of the worst rounds that I've had to having one of my best rounds the next day!"
Hermann's favorite post-competition snack is Chipotle. She also shared that she used to excel in tennis and dreams of working in the golf industry with a major company or tour.
When asked about travel aspirations, Hermann expressed a desire to visit Greece. If given the chance to spend a day with any professional athlete or celebrity, she would choose Nelly Korda.
Her advice for fellow Blugold student-athletes emphasizes time management and enjoyment: "Learn how to manage your time, but most importantly, have fun. Being a student athlete is a great privilege!"
Jeff Walk, Head Women's Golf Coach at UW-Eau Claire, praised Hermann's qualities: "Elizabeth brings an inspirational work ethic, a goal-driven passion for success, and strong golf course management skills to her individual game."
