Huschka and Renta earn all-conference honors for UW-Eau Claire basketball

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire men's basketball team has seen two of its players, Carter Huschka and Andre Renta, recognized on the 2024-25 All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) team. The announcement was made by the WIAC on Tuesday.

Carter Huschka, a senior forward from Farmington, Minnesota, not only made the All-WIAC squad but was also named to the WIAC All-Defensive Team. Huschka led his team in scoring with an average of 19.0 points per game and ranked second with 8.1 rebounds per game. Within the conference, he placed second in scoring average and third in both rebounding and blocks per game (1.2). His achievements this season include being a two-time WIAC Kwik Trip Athlete of the Week and earning a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week once. Huschka recorded seven double-doubles throughout the season and averaged 20.5 points along with 8.6 rebounds per contest in eight games against Top 25 opponents.

Andre Renta, a junior guard from Hudson, Wisconsin, was acknowledged as the Blugolds' second-leading scorer with an average of 17.0 points per game, ranking third in the WIAC. He also secured second place in assists within the conference with an average of 3.9 per game and sixth place for steals at 1.3 per game. Renta's performance earned him WIAC Kwik Trip Athlete of the Week honors once and a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week once as well. He had eight games where he scored over 20 points this season.

Additionally, Michael Casper, a senior from Merrill, Wisconsin, was honored with a place on the WIAC All-Sportsmanship team after becoming a 1,000-point scorer for his team this season.
